I am excited to begin my graduate program this the Fall in the Harwood lab to conduct research on antibiotic resistant bacteria and water quality. I have always been interested in disease ecology and will be using genetic markers to determine fecal contaminant sources which have been associated with human disease. With regards to human disease, antibiotic resistant bacteria are a huge issue. With my research I hope to gain more insight on these species, and methods to combat their spread.
